Softball Recap: Coquille Comes Up Short

Coquille lost against Sutherlin on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Red Devils fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 11-10. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rylie West and Oakley Johnson did some serious damage despite the final result: West got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Johnson went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Bailey Alford, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Coquille's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Sutherlin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-14.

While Coquille had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
