Baseball Recap: Perry Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Perry extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Tolleson. They never let the Wolverines get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Pumas not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 20th (when they won 16-6).

Dominic Jochumsen looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Nick Grote was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Andrew Hover was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Perry pushed their record up to 19-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Tolleson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-11-1.

Coming up, Perry will challenge O'Connor on Thursday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Pumas' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Tolleson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
