Basketball Recap: Tyrell Bowles Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Wise

Flowers hadn't done well against Wise recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Flowers Jaguars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wise Pumas, sneaking past 64-62. This was a revenge game for the Jaguars: when they faced off against the Pumas back in December of 2024, they had to take a 72-67 loss.

Flowers' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyrell Bowles, who dropped a triple-double with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and ten blocks. Bowles has become a key player for Flowers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three blocks, but 1-2 otherwise. Chuka Anagbogu was another key player, going 11 for 16 on his way to 24 points and eight boards.

Flowers smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Wise still got an impressive performance from Dion Walker, who went 6 of 12 to rack up 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rasan Golatt, who posted 11 points in addition to seven assists and five steals.

Flowers' record now sits at 14-2. As for Wise, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-4.

Flowers wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 69-63 victory against Suitland on the 7th. Wise has also already played their next contest (against DuVal), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
