Baseball Recap: Valley Christian Find Success

While Valley Christian's victory against Foresthill wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Wildfires on Friday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Wildfires recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Jeremiah Pritchard was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Pritchard wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Louden Carter, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. That stolen base was Carter's first of the season.

Valley Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Foresthill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Valley Christian beat the Wildfires by a score of 9-4 later that day.
