Recap: Canton Tigers vs. Missouri Military Academy Fighting Colonels
The Canton Tigers posted their biggest win since November 21, 2023 on Saturday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 74-29 victory over Missouri Military Academy. Given Canton's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Missouri Military Academy is ranked 565th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Canton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Preston Brewer, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Caleb Cox was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists.
Canton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Missouri Military Academy, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Canton will take on Atlanta at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Atlanta knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Canton likes a good challenge. As for Missouri Military Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Sunnydale Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Sunnydale Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
