Baseball Recap: Taft Greyhounds vs. Orange Grove Bulldogs
Taft and Orange Grove squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Taft had to settle for second. They lost 15-0 to the Bulldogs. The Greyhounds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 7-4.
Taft got a good showing from Joseph Barrios, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits Barrios has allowed since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Taft saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trae Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Taft's loss dropped their record down to 13-13-1. As for Orange Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 15-10-1.
