Volleyball Recap: St. James Extends Winning Streak to Six

St. James waltzed into their game on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the West Florence Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 two weeks ago.

St. James took West Florence into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-20, 19-25, 21-25, 15-12.

Despite the defeat, West Florence saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ansley White had 35 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Laura Tiller, who had 15 assists and eight digs.

St. James' win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for West Florence, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

After both having extra time off, St. James and Myrtle Beach will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Sharks their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for West Florence, they will face off against Sumter at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
