Preview: FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers vs. Madison County Cowboys
The FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers and the Madison County Cowboys will face off at 6:00 p.m. on November 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, FAMU DRS slipped by Crossroad Academy 32-31. The win was just what FAMU DRS needed coming off of a 52-15 loss in their prior contest.
Priya Ratnaswany was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 14 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Aubriel Norton, who scored 5 points along with 9 rebounds.
Madison County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 29 points or more this season. They breezed by North Florida Christian at home to the tune of 68-22. With Madison County ahead 39-17 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Janiyah Mcknight was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. The game was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaidyn Wesley, who scored 15 points along with 5 assists.
Thomasville's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while FAMU DRS's defeat dropped theirs to 0-1.
FAMU DRS came up short against Madison County when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 54-45. Can FAMU DRS avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
