Football Recap: Buckholts Comes Up Short

Buckholts's game on Friday was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They lost 54-30 to the Evant Elks. The Badgers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Despite the loss, Buckholts still got an impressive performance from Blade Duarte, who threw for 101 yards and three TDs on only six passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. The Badgers also got help from Jaxson Sliger, who showed off his sure hands for 97 receiving yards.

Edgar Dominguez produced another solid effort rushing for 109 yards and one touchdown for Evant.

Buckholts' defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Evant, their record is now 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. After each having a week off, Buckholts and Prairie Lea will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th. The Badgers will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.4 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Evant, they will square off against Mount Calm at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Evant will need to watch out since Mount Calm has now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
