Baseball Recap: Leflore Wins Going Away Against Mccurtain

Leflore won the last time they faced McCurtain and things went their way on Saturday too. The Savages put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 11-2 victory. The Savages might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by nine runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Ben Dacus, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was JJ Cogburn, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Dacus wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Leflore lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Leflore's win bumped their record up to 10-3-1. As for McCurtain, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Leflore will welcome Keota at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.71 runs per game on average), something the Savages will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for McCurtain, they will head out to square off against Webbers Falls at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.9 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
