Basketball Recap: Terrell Takes a Loss

Terrell extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 9-22. They were outmatched by the Red Oak Hawks and fell 74-47. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 81-25 back in January.

Despite the loss, Terrell had strong showings from Aiden Glenn, who posted 14 points, and Antwian Thomas JR, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. Kaice Dye was another key player, putting up five points.

As for Red Oak, the victory was the 21st in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points over those games.

Devan Kirk continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 16 boards. He has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Burdine, who had 13 points along with five boards and four steals.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Terrell will face off against rival Corsicana at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Red Oak is set to square off against their familiar foe Midlothian Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
