Volleyball Recap: Bloomfield Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Sophia Gallegos and Davanee Willie + How To Watch

Bloomfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Miyamura Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in October.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 22-25, 25-16, 25-22.

Bloomfield's loss came despite strong showings from Davanee Willie and Sophia Gallegos. Willie had 11 digs, while Gallegos had 11 kills and three aces. Gallegos is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 14 games she's played.

Kenna Briggs was nothing short of spectacular for Miyamura: she had 29 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexandria Begay, who had five digs and five aces.

Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Miyamura, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will host Kirtland Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Miyamura, they will be playing at home against Shiprock at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chieftains will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
