Fauquier is 9-1 against Kettle Run since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Falcons will challenge the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Fauquier will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Fauquier took on Liberty on Tuesday. The Falcons walked away with a 6-3 win over the Eagles.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kettle Run). They put the hurt on Brentsville District with a sharp 16-6 victory on Tuesday. With that win, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Aaliyah Alexander was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Those hits were her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Ryan Drew was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Emerson Golden was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Kettle Run always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Fauquier pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Kettle Run, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Fauquier came out on top in a nail-biter against Kettle Run in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
