It was a good run, but Estacado unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 15-5 to the Liberty Patriots. The Matadors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Estacado's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-10-1. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.

Estacado has already played their next match, a 5-1 defeat against Lake View on the 21st. As for Liberty, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-1 victory against Big Spring on the 21st.
