Preview: Orange Grove Bulldogs vs. West Oso Bears
Orange Grove is 2-8 against West Oso since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Orange Grove Bulldogs will be playing at home against the West Oso Bears at 6:15 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Orange Grove has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while West Oso will arrive with four straight wins.
Last Tuesday, Orange Grove came up short against Rockport-Fulton and fell 42-32.
Meanwhile, West Oso put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ingleside 60-13 at home. With West Oso ahead 34-4 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
West Oso's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Milauni Williams, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jae'la Hicks, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Orange Grove has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for West Oso, they pushed their record up to 21-7 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
