Marist entered their tilt with Lincoln-Way East on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They strolled past the Griffins with points to spare, taking the game 63-47. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the RedHawks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Griffins are ranked 162nd).

Marist's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Lincoln-Way East, they moved to 6-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Marist and Providence Catholic will compete for holiday cheer at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lincoln-Way East, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bradley-Bourbonnais at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Griffins will be up against the Boilermakers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
