Volleyball Recap: Xenia Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Xenia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Butler Aviators, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Aviators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 2nd.

Xenia was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-13, 25-22.

Butler can attribute much of their success to Laila Neely, who had 19 digs and three assists. Neely has been hot, having posted 17 or more digs the last five times she's played. Kathryn Rosson also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Xenia's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Butler, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Looking ahead, Xenia will take on West Carrollton at 7:00 p.m. on October 7. As for Butler, they will square off against Sidney at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
