Softball Preview: Keith Bears vs. Dallas County Hornets
Keith is 0-7 against Dallas County since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Keith Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Dallas County Hornets at 5:00 p.m. Dallas County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Keith, who comes in off a win.
Keith put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Johnson as Keith made off with a 17-2 victory. The win was just what Keith needed coming off of a 14-3 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Dallas County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 13-1 walloping at the hands of Verbena.
LiDonna Woods was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and ten unearned) runs off five hits. Woods was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with a home run and a stolen base.
Woods wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nakiya Stubbs, who went 1-for-3 with a triple.
Keith now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Dallas County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
Keith suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Dallas County in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can Keith avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
