Softball Recap: Alabama Christian Academy Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

On Tuesday, the Alabama Christian Academy Eagles earned a 6-3 win over the Autauga Academy Generals.

Izzy Warrick was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Lily Sconyers and Elizabeth Hall did most of the damage at the plate: Sconyers scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Hall scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Sconyers has posted over her last 15 contests.

Alabama Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 8.88 hits in those games compared to only 5.14 in the others. Autauga Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alabama Christian Academy will face off against Stanhope Elmore at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Autauga Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Verbena at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
