Softball Recap: Dresden Comes Up Short

If Dresden was feeling good fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Lake County on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions fell just short of the Union City Golden Tornadoes by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Tornadoes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Emma Parham made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3.

With the loss, Dresden broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-12. As for Union City, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Dresden will be playing in front of their home fans against South Gibson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Union City, they will head out to square off against South Fulton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
