Basketball Recap: Teague Comes Up Short

Teague lost against Fairfield back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Teague Lions took a blow against the Fairfield Eagles, falling 73-45.

Teague's loss came despite strong showings from Bryce Bates and Carter Stacks. Bates went 5 for 9 en route to 13 points, while Stacks posted 11 points. Those 13 points gave Bates a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackdaniels Reed, who earned two points and six rebounds.

Teague has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Fairfield, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Teague Lions duke it out with the Westwood Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Teague likes a good challenge. As for Fairfield, they will square off against Buffalo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Considering Fairfield has lost three straight at home and Buffalo three straight on the road , this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
