Preview: Camden Bulldogs vs. Dillon Wildcats
The Camden Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Dillon Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Camden sitting on three straight victories and Dillon on eight.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Camden had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 48-7 win over Dreher at home. Given Camden's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Dreher is ranked 122nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grayson White was his usual excellent self, throwing for 287 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. White is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. Wyatt Thompson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Dillon can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They breezed by North Charleston at home to the tune of 42-8. Dillon's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Camden is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Dillon, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record.
Camden lost to Dillon on the road by a decisive 31-14 margin in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Can Camden avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
