Soccer Recap: Central Victorious

Central won the last time they faced Clovis East and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Central Grizzlies narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Clovis East Timberwolves 2-1.

Derrick Green was the driving force of Central's attack as he scored both of Central's goals, bringing his season total up to 14 goals.

Central's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2-1 and their overall record up to 5-8-4. As for Clovis East, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8-1.

Central and Clovis East could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Central (ranked 370th) will meet Clovis (ranked 51st) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Clovis East will face off against Buchanan at 4:00 p.m. on Friday down 464 places (496 vs. 32).
