After flying high against Northfield last Tuesday, Thomas Jefferson came back down to earth. The Thomas Jefferson Spartans fell 8-5 to the Heritage Eagles on Friday. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Sofia Sandoval made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 4-for-4. Ella Storey was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Even though they lost, Thomas Jefferson didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with six strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage only tossed three.

Thomas Jefferson will venture away from home to take on Vista PEAK Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage, they will have plenty of time to enjoy the victory as they don't play again for a while. They'll take on Mountain Vista at 3:30 p.m. on September 18th.
