Basketball Recap: Addi Ruffin Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Franklin Road Academy

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Goodpasture Christian walked away with it. They came out on top against the Franklin Road Academy Panthers by a score of 65-58 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Goodpasture Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addi Ruffin, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Ruffin has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Harper Kate Miles, who went 5-for-8 en route to 21 points and five boards.

Goodpasture Christian's win bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Franklin Road Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 22-12 record this season.

Goodpasture Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-53 victory against Grace Christian Academy on the 25th. As for Franklin Road Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-45 win against Jackson Christian on the 25th.
