Basketball Recap: Moore Comes Up Short

Moore suffered their biggest defeat since January 21st on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Putnam City North Panthers, falling 75-37. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Panthers are ranked first).

Nykaiya Dillard was her usual excellent self, going 5-for-7 en route to 16 points and four steals for Putnam City North. Dillard has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brandie Harrod, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 14 points.

Moore has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Putnam City North, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 21-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moore will challenge Capitol Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Putnam City North, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eisenhower at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
