Volleyball Recap: South Bend Riley Takes a Loss

South Bend Riley was the 3-1 winner over Penn when they last played one another on Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kingsmen on Saturday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South Bend Riley was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-13.

Penn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from William Selis, who had 17 digs and one assist. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacoby Forbes, who had three digs and three aces.

South Bend Riley's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Penn, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, South Bend Riley and Penn will both be playing Elkhart the next time they take the court. The Kingsmen will head out to face the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Wildcats will host them at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
