Edgewood has gone 7-1 against North Putnam recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mustangs will look to defend their home field against the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Edgewood 2.4, North Putnam 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Edgewood is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Evansville Mater Dei just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 4-1 to the Wildcats.

Edgewood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was BRYLEE MOORE, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but North Putnam ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand North Montgomery an 11-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Tori Detro was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hailee Daigle, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Mack Mason, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Edgewood's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for North Putnam, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.

Everything went Edgewood's way against North Putnam in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Edgewood made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
