Lakewood had lost four games at home, but after bumping their record up to 8-10 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Meridian Trojans. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Katie Krueger made a splash no matter where she played. As for Meridian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Meridian's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Schultz, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Makayla Tolsma also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
