Garner and Fuquay - Varina are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2021, but not for long. The Trojans will welcome the Bengals at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Garner beat Clayton 3-1. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Comets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
While Garner might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Clayton scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 26-24, 19-25, 25-18.

Garner can attribute much of their success to Haley Heath, who had ten digs and two aces. That's the most digs Heath has posted since back in August.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fuquay - Varina, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against South Garner on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-12, 25-12.
Fuquay - Varina's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Garner, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Garner has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Fuquay - Varina struggles in that department as they've been averaging 13.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
