McLane had won five straight at home, but on Thursday they bumped up to 8-0 to make it six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Sanger West Hornets 49-14. Fans of the Highlanders have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McLane to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vernon Lacy, who threw for 357 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 15.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 30 yards. Those 357 passing yards gave Lacy a new career-high. Demetrius Simon also helped out as he racked up 138 receiving yards.
