Volleyball Recap: South Iredell Takes a Loss

South Iredell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cornerstone Charter Cardinals.

Ashley Belland was a one-woman wrecking crew For Cornerstone Charter. as she had 28 assists and six digs. Those 28 assists gave Belland a new career-high. Chloe Cobb also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

South Iredell's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Cornerstone Charter, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Iredell is headed away from home for the first time to square off against West Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cornerstone Charter, they will head out to take on Eno River Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
