Softball Recap: West Branch Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Louisville, West Branch was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with an 11-7 win over the Salem Quakers. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their two-run performance the contest before.

The team relied heavily on Libbie Davis, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Metzgar, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

West Branch hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Salem struck out eight times.

West Branch pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Salem, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.

West Branch wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-8 victory against Carrollton on the 9th. As for Salem, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Hubbard on the 13th.
