Baseball Recap: Branford Makes It Four in a Row at Home

After only two runs in their last match, Branford made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bronson on Friday. The Branford Buccaneers were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over the Bronson Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won six games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Jackson Skinner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Patrick Williams was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Branford: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Troy Roberts was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Four bases. while going 1-for-3.

Branford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bronson only posted an OBP of .158.

Branford pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bronson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Looking ahead, Branford will welcome Bell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bell will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Branford surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bronson, they will face off against Cedar Key at 7:00 p.m. on March 21st.
