Volleyball Recap: Neuse Charter Starts Season with Victory at Home

Neuse Charter took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Neuse Charter walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-13, 25-20.

Layla Johnson paced Neuse Charter's offense, picking up 13 kills. Johnson got some help from Lily Temple and her 11 assists. Sloane Smith controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Neuse Charter will host Rosewood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, they will venture away from home to challenge South Garner at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
