Basketball Preview: Mancos Bluejays vs. Pagosa Springs Pirates
Two dominant guards in Claire Goodwin and Elizabeth Currier are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Mancos Bluejays will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pagosa Springs Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Mancos was able to grind out a solid victory over the Mustangs, taking the game 41-31.
Meanwhile, Pagosa Springs made easy work of the Mean Moose on Saturday and carried off a 54-32 win.
Pagosa Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Currier, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Annie O?Donnell, who scored 12 points.
Mancos has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Pagosa Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.
