There's no place like home for Bruton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the York Falcons 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since October 22, 2024.

Bruton took York into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-12, 20-25, 15-25, 15-7.

Addison Newman paced Bruton's offense, picking up 17 kills. Newman got some help from Annalise Wood and her 29 assists. Finally, Princess Keumajou kept Bruton's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

York's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Rose Fortin, who had 26 kills, five aces, three digs, and three blocks, and Deja Golston, who had 13 digs. With that strong performance, Fortin is now averaging an impressive 5.5 kills per game.

Bruton's win ended a four-match drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8. As for York, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
