Softball Recap: Freedom Wins Going Away Against Pittsburg

Freedom won the last time they faced Pittsburg and things went their way on Thursday too. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Pirates. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Riley Moon looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, Jaiden Proctor was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Alexis Rhoads also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Freedom's record now sits at 3-7-1. As for Pittsburg, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Coming up, Freedom will venture away from home to face off against Antioch at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pittsburg, they will host Heritage at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight.
