Preview: Justin Garza Guardians vs. Madera Coyotes
The Justin Garza Guardians will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Madera Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Justin Garza entered their tilt with San Joaquin Memorial with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Justin Garza blew past San Joaquin Memorial 38-10 at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Justin Garza just coasted through the last quarter.
Caleb Matthews continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 285 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. London Alexander was another key contributor, picking up 157 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Madera made easy work of Edison on Friday and carried off a 42-21 victory.
Justin Garza's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-4. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely San Joaquin Memorial, Edison, and Bullard. As for Madera, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Justin Garza strolled past Madera in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a score of 20-6. Will Justin Garza repeat their success, or does Madera have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
