Baseball Recap: Marianna Extends Winning Streak to Three

Marianna entered their tilt with Wakulla on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the War Eagles.

Torin Clark-Hussey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Parker Willis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Marianna is undefeated when Willis posts two or more runs, but 3-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Byrd, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Marianna's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Wakulla, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marianna will welcome Mosley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dolphins will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wakulla, they will take on Florida State University High School at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
