Baseball Recap: Redmond Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Redmond won against Lynnwood on Tuesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Mustangs beat the Bellevue Wolverines by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-2. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on three straight.

The team relied heavily on Hiroshi Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lance Burt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.

Redmond always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellevue only posted an OBP of .348.

Redmond pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Bellevue, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Redmond will venture away from home to challenge Inglemoor at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 3.4, the Vikings 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Bellevue, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Highline at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
