Soccer Game Preview: Grissom vs. Oak Mountain

The Grissom Tigers will take on the Oak Mountain Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Grissom sitting on three straight victories and Oak Mountain on 30.

Grissom is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They won by a goal and slipped past Bob Jones 4-3. That's two games straight that Grissom have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Oak Mountain faced Prattville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 4-1 win. Oak Mountain might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 24 games by three goals or more this season.

They hit Prattville with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gabe Capocci (2), Gerardo Rodriguez, and Sam Collins.

Oak Mountain pushed their record up to 30-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. As for Grissom, their win bumped their record up to 16-7-3.

Grissom suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Oak Mountain in their previous matchup back in February. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
