The Heritage Academy Gateway Heroes will challenge the Imagine Prep Storm at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage Academy Gateway is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

Heritage Academy Gateway took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past East Valley Athletes for Christ 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Heroes have posted since May 3, 2024.

Porter Withers was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. Landon Roe was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Heritage Academy Gateway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Valley Athletes for Christ only posted a batting average of .143.

Meanwhile, Imagine Prep came up short against Mission Heights Prep on Friday, falling 13-3. The loss continues a trend for the Storm in their meetings with the Phantoms: they've now lost three in a row.

Jeremiah Hunt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-2.

Heritage Academy Gateway's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Imagine Prep, they now have a losing record of 4-5-1.

Imagine Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Heritage Academy Gateway hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .389. It's a different story for Imagine Prep, though, as they've only averaged .164. Will they be able to contain Heritage Academy Gateway's hitters?

Heritage Academy Gateway skirted past Imagine Prep 8-6 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Heroes repeat their success, or do the Storm have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
