Softball Game Preview: Providence Catholic Celtics vs. Glenwood Titans

The Providence Catholic Celtics will face off against the Glenwood Titans at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Providence Catholic comes in on seven and Glenwood on 27.

Providence Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over St. Laurence. Five seems to be a good number for the Celtics as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Glenwood faced Prairie Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Titans never let the Wolves get on the board and left with a 5-0 win.

The result came thanks to Irie Lohrenz's shutout, as she gave up just three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Glenwood's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mollie Cascio, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Glenwood's win bumped their record up to 36-1. As for Providence Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 26-11.
