Softball Recap: Pine Forest Comes Up Short

Pine Forest dropped their record down to 10-7 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Milton Panthers, falling 15-0. The Eagles were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Panthers' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Milton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.

For Milton's part, the team relied heavily on Alexis Hawthorne, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI and two runs. Those five RBI gave Hawthorne a new career-high. Victoria Simmons also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Pine Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Milton, they will take on Pace at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
