Softball Recap: Mcdowell Wins Going Away Against Elliott County

McDowell's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They blew past the Elliott County Lions 15-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trojans considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Ayva Mickel and Alexandra Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Mickel scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Smith scored three runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Mickel a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Ava Lockwood, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

McDowell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elliott County only posted an OBP of .100.

McDowell's record is now 3-0. As for Elliott County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
