Softball Game Preview: West Bend-Mallard Wolverines vs. South Central Calhoun Titans

West Bend-Mallard is on a three-game streak of home losses, and South Central Calhoun a 14-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The West Bend-Mallard Wolverines will host the South Central Calhoun Titans at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

West Bend-Mallard lost 20-12 to North Iowa on Tuesday. Even if the Wolverines couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for South Central Calhoun's offense. They came up short against Northwest Webster on Monday, falling 17-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Titans have suffered against the Cougars since June 5, 2017.

South Central Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for West Bend-Mallard, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

West Bend-Mallard was able to grind out a solid win over South Central Calhoun when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 13-9. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
