Basketball Recap: St. Thomas More Takes a Loss

St. Thomas More was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were dealt a 45-15 loss at the hands of the Monticello Sages. The Sabers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-6.

Megan Allen continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Monticello, going 6-for-12 en route to 13 points along with six boards and six steals. That's the most steals Allen has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Cresap, who earned five points and three steals.

St. Thomas More's defeat dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Monticello, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 20 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

St. Thomas More wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-26 loss against Pontiac on the 10th. As for Monticello, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-40 victory against Tolono Unity on the 10th.
