Recap: Jacksonville Titans vs. Searcy Lions
The Jacksonville Titans''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 56-27 loss at the hands of Searcy. Jacksonville has struggled against Searcy recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Jacksonville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Kentrell Thompson, who rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Morris, who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Searcy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Strickland, who rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Strickland was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Rickey Love was another key contributor, rushing for 76 yards and three touchdowns.
Jacksonville's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Searcy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-3.
Jacksonville will challenge El Dorado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. El Dorado will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Searcy, they will be playing at home against West Memphis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Memphis is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
