Basketball Recap: Newton Falls Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Newton Falls faced off against Bristol on Monday. The Newton Falls Tigers fell 33-26 to the Bristol Panthers. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2021.

Bristol found their leader in sophomore Lauren Church, who posted 16 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Church is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cadence Imhoff, who put up seven points along with six boards and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Newton Falls and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Bristol, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Newton Falls didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 30-25 win against Jackson-Milton on the 30th. As for Bristol, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 44-40 loss against Champion on the 2nd.
